M. LaVon Miller, age 87, died Wednesday evening, September 14, 2016, at her Meade, Kansas resiedence.
 
She was born March 3, 1929, at rural Fowler, Kansas, the daughter of Walter Warren and Feryl Ione (Flinn) Marrs.  As a young girl she attended the Fowler school system, graduating from Fowler High School.  She later attended nurses training in Wichita.  After her education, she returned to Meade County.  A lifetime Meade County resident, she was a homemaker and floral designer.
 
She was a member of the United Methodist Church and the Maia Club, both of Meade.  She enjoyed gardening, sewing, crafts, and spending time with her family and friends.
 
On October 30, 1948, she married Rolla J. Miller at Liberal, Kansas.  He precedes her in death on December 27, 1993.
 
She is survived by:
A son,                                                Mark Miller and wife Ruth of Meade, Kansas
 
A daughter,                                    Deby Buchanan of Charlotte, North Carolina
 
Three brothers,                                     Alfred Marrs of Meade, Kansas
Virgil Marrs of Hays, Kansas
Wendel Marrs and wife Penny of Pahrump, Nevada
 
Three sisters,                                     Betty Leis and husband Clarence of Rogers, Arkansas
Warrenetta Fisher and husband Donald of Garden City, Kansas
Leola Brown of Nickerson, Kansas
 
Three grandchildren,                        Jason & Karrie Miller
                                                Crispin & Michael Metcalf
                                                Bevin & James Vinton
Nine great-grandchildren,            Kellie, Taya, Bradley, Deborah, Barbara, Michelle, Amber, Joshua, & Shelbie
One great-great-grandchild,            Brayson
 
She is preceded in death by her husband; parents; and two sisters, Gladys Aileen Bruington and Guinola Mae Tacha.
 
Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, September 21, 2016, at the United Methodist Church, Meade.  Friends may call from 12:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. Tuesday at Fidler-Orme-Bachman Mortuary, Meade.  Interment will follow in the Fowler Cemetery, Fowler, Kansas.
 
The family would welcome memorials to the American Cancer Society in care of the funeral home.
