MEADE – Larry D. Classen, age 77, passed away Saturday, September 1, 2018. Larry was born, raised and a lifelong resident of Meade, Kansas. He graduated from Southern Nazarene University (SNU) but was a Kansas Jayhawk fan through and through. He loved his friends and had many of them. Larry is survived by his loving wife, Kaye; sisters, Darlene and Connie; 3 sons, Brad Rodgers, Jason Classen, and Brandon Classen; 7 grandchildren, Haven, Holden, Gracie, Noah, Blake, Everett, and Isaac; and many other family members and friends. All of whom loved him dearly. Larry was preceded in death by his father, Dick Classen; mother, Katherine Classen; and sister, Kathy Lesslie. Larry being the consummate pragmatist requested that in lieu of flowers, memorial donations be made to: Meade Church of the Nazarene, Beam Center, or Samaritan’s Purse.Memorial services will be held at 10:00 a.m. Saturday, September 8, 2018, at the Church of the Nazarene, Meade. Friends may call from 9:00 a.m. until 7:00 p.m. Friday at Fidler-Orme-Bachman Mortuary, Meade. Private family interment will be held at the Graceland Cemetery, Meade.
