Jose “Jody” Guadalupe Flores

Jose “Jody” Guadalupe Flores, 80, of Tyrone, OK passed away on April 11, 2017 at Coffeyville, KS.

He was born on January 30, 1937 to Alfonso and Geneiva (Ulibarri) Flores at Arkalon, KS.

On March 16, 1963 he married Euola Reynolds at the Clayton, NM. She survives.

Jody served in the United States Army from 1955 – 1958 where he served as a Sergeant. He and his wife lived briefly in Denver, CO, moving back to Liberal KS to work with Rock Island Railroad. Jody began working as a Truck Driver and worked for Groendyke Trucking then going to work for Yellow Freight Trucking in 1967, from which he retired from in 1994 after 37 years of service. While working with Yellow Freight he received two One Million Mile safety awards for his safe driving. Jody loved to play the Steel Guitar and Bass, spending time with his kids and grandkids, camping & fishing, working on race cars and had an unforgettable smile! He was a member of Teamsters Union and the St. Anthony’s Catholic of Liberal.

Jody is survived by his wife of 53 years Euola; Two Daughters, Angela Campbell and husband Rex of Liberal, KS, LaDawna Jo Garcia of Liberal, KS; Five grandkids, Tyler L. Langley, Elena Calleja, Rocky L. Flores, Ricky Garcia, and Ross Garcia; 10 Great Grandchildren; three brothers. Dicky Flores, Claude Flores and Butch Kneeland; four sisters, Ida Lara, Rosella Arellano, Teresa Humphrey and Melinda Campuzano; several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by Daughter, Annette Dawn Flores; his parents; two brothers, one sister, one niece and one nephew.

Viewing will be 1:00 pm – 5:00 pm Tuesday, April 18, 2017 at Miller Mortuary, Liberal, KS.

Rosary Service will be 7:00pm Tuesday, April 18 at St. Anthony of Padau Catholic Church in Liberal.

Funeral Mass will be held on Wednesday, April 19, 2017, 10:00 am at the St Anthony of Padua Catholic Church with Fr. James P Dieker, officiating.

Burial will follow in the Liberal City Cemetery.

Memorials are suggested to the Alzheimer’s Association (Alz.org) in care of Miller Mortuary.
