Eva “Babe” Klingenberg, age, 87 of Manter, Kansas died Sunday, June 17, 2018 at the Stanton County Hospital inJohnson, Kansas. She was born July 15, 1930 in Stanton County, Kansas the daughter of Charles C. and Nellie Leona (Von Hemel) Wilkerson.

Babe grew up and graduated High School at Manter, Kansas. She later became a Nurse and worked 25 years in the Medical Clinic for Dr. Daily and Dr. Ram. She had also worked at the Stanton County Hospital and the Stanton County Long Term Care Unit.  She enjoyed collecting bird figurines and spending time with her family.

She married Guy K. Bitner on March 2, 1950, she then married Duane Klingenberg on July 15, 1971 in Springfield, Colorado, he preceded her in death.

Survivors include one son Guy L. Bitner of Manter, Kansas. One brother Beauford (Tube) Wilkerson and wife Pauline of Manter, Kansas, one sister Bonnie Manning and husband Bill of Garden City, Kansas, Sisters-in-Law Donice Wilkerson, Betty Wilkerson and Linda Wilkerson all of Johnson, Kansas, one grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

She is preceded in death by her parents, infant son Kim Bitner,husband Duane and three brothers Alvin (Bud) Wilkerson, Bill Wilkerson and Bob Wilkerson.

Funeral service will be Friday, June 22, 2018, 10:00 am at the Manter United Methodist Church, Manter, Kansas with Pastor Mary Courtney officiating. Burial will follow at the Stanton County Cemetery, Johnson, Kansas. Visitation will be Thursday, June 21, 2018 from 2:00 pm until 8:00 pm at Garnand Funeral Home, Johnson, Kansas. Memorials may be given to the Manter United Methodist Church in care of Garnand Funeral Home, PO Box 715, Johnson, Kansas 67855.
