Edward “Ed” Madison Fawcett

Edward “Ed” Madison Fawcett, 91, died August 7, 2017 at his home in Rago KS. He was born April 1, 1926 in Peoria, Illinois to Chet Edward Fawcett and Florence Bell Fawcett. Ed grew up and into manhood in Peoria and Springfield Illinois. He then spent 5 years in Hansford, TX, 50 plus years in Kismet, KS and 2 years in Rago, KS.

Ed graduated Sangamon County Schools, Peoria, Ill in 1944. He then went into the navy on June 1944 to June 19, 1946. He was a Motor Machinist Mate 3rd Class.

On July 25 1948 He married Carol June (Peggy) Groat in Peoria, Ill. She died May 29, 1982.
Ed Married Ruth Pennington (Wettstein) November 25, 1983 in Liberal, KS.

Ed worked fpr Panhandle Eastern Pipeline as a Division Controls Technician for 38 years.

He was a member of the Kismet United Methodist Church.

He was preceded in death by his first wife, Carol June (Peggy) Fawcett; Father, Chet Edward Fawcett; Mother, Florence Bell, Step Mother, Louetta Fran Fawcett; 3 sisters, Gwen Duggerty, Helen Quinnett, and Nita Fawcett; and a host of other family and friends.

Funeral services will be at 11:00 am Friday, August 11, 2017 at the Kismet Methodist Church with Pastor Larry Meyers officiating.

Visitation will be Thursday, with the family greeting friends from 6:30 to 8:00 pm at the Brenneman Funeral Home.

Burial will be in the Kismet Cemetery, Kismet, KS.

Memorials may be sent in Ed’s name to the Kismet United Methodist Church for Scholarships for students training for pastoral work, to Brenneman Funeral Home 1212 W. 2nd St. Liberal, KS 67901.
