Dr. Norvan D. Harris M.D. 91 died, Sunday, August 14, 2011 at Southwest Medical Center in Liberal, KS
He was born June 2, 1920 in Smith County, KS the son of John G. and Goldie (Chance) Harris.
He graduated in 1938 form Bird City High School in Bird City, KS. He graduated from Ft. Hays State University in 1942 and graduated from K.U. Medical School in 1944.
He served in the Army Medical Corp from 1945-1947. He moved to Liberal in 1948 and began his practice as an OB GYN physician retiring in 1989.
He was a member of the First United Methodist Church, Kansas Medical Society, American Medical Association and a member of the American College of OB GYN.

On April 2, 1948 he married Dorothy M. McMahon in Wichita, Kansas. She survives.

2 Daughters Cynthia Peery and husband Mike Sugar Land, TX
Janet Harris Quinter, KS

5 Grandchildren Hillerie Gerlock and husband John, Garret Peery, Cameron Peery, Ryan Harris and John Harris.

Preceded in death by parents one brother Duane Harris and one sister Velda Thornburg.

Funeral service will be held at 2:00pm Wed. at Brenneman Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. David Randal presiding.

Graveside service will be held at 2:00 pm Friday at Bird City Cemetery Bird City, KS.

Visitation time will be 9am to 8pm Tuesday and 9 am to service time Wed. at Brenneman Funeral Home.

In lieu of flowers and plants memorial contributions may be sent to the First United Methodist Church or Ft. Hays State University ~Norvan & Dorothy Harris Scholarship Fund in care of Brenneman Funeral Home 1212 W. 2nd Liberal, KS 67901.
