Delores Reimer

Delores Marie Reimer, 80, of Hooker, Oklahoma passed away April 17, 2011 at Select Specialty Hospital at St. Francis Hospital in Wichita, Kansas.

Delores was born February 7, 1931 in Hooker, Oklahoma the daughter of Abraham A. and Marie Hamm Wiens. She grew up in the Adams area and attended grade school in Adams, Oklahoma. She then attended Corn Bible Academy graduating with the Class of 1949 where she was Salutatorian.

On October 9, 1949 at the Adams Mennonite Brethren Church she was united in marriage to Cornelius Reimer. They made their home one mile west of Adams, Oklahoma.

Delores was a charter member of the Gospel of Grace Church in Hooker, Oklahoma where she played organ. Delores and Cornelius served on the hospitality committee and she was a member of the Ladies Missionary Fellowship for many years.

She had the gift of hospitality, loved growing and working with flowers making the flowers for her granddaughters’ weddings. She sold for Home Interiors for twenty-five years and was the best cook for her family.

She is preceded in death by her parents and three sisters, Elise Penner, Leona Nikkel, and Evelyn Neufeld.

Delores is survived by her husband Cornelius of the home; three sons, Merwin and his wife Vickie of Hooker, Oklahoma, Bryan and his wife Pat of Valley Center, Kansas, LaVern and his wife Janet of Newton, Kansas; one sister, Rose Nikkel of Liberal, Kansas; seven grandchildren, Micha, Keith, Kyle, Erin, Megan, Donna and Patricia; ten great-grandchildren, Andrew, Aaron, Jacob, Emma, Joshua, Cassie, Caitlyn, Carlee Jane, Braedon and Greyson Neal.

Graveside committal services will be at 10:00 am Thursday, April 21, 2011 at the Hooker Cemetery followed by a memorial service at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday at the Gospel of Grace Church in Hooker, Oklahoma with Rev. Chris McFarland officiating.

Memorials are suggested to the Freedom Crossroads Bible Camp and may be left at Roberts Brothers Funeral Home, Inc. Box 745, Hooker, Oklahoma 73945.
