FOWLER – Verle Dean Reese began his walk with Jesus November 25, 2018.

He was born just over the line into Ford county on March 12,1931 to Belle Johnson & William Reese.  He attended the Wilburn Country School until the 2nd grade.  He then attended Fowler Grade School and High School until graduation in 1950.He was baptized into the Christian Church.

On January 19,1951 he married Mary Houser at the First Christian Church in Fowler.

He was a lifelong irregated farmer, growing wheat, corn, soybeans & milo.   He raised Shorthorn cattle & registered Yorkshire Hogs that he showed at several state fairs.  He did remolding by paneling the basement up to the second story and adding 2 bathrooms upstairs for the B & B.  He built on a glassed- in porch for
breakfasts.  Then built a greenhouse for bedding plants, a gazebo enclosed with windows and a shade house with a fish pond and 2 more open gazebos.  He has 5 acres of peonies and grass that has to be mowed. He helped remodel the church enclosing a kitchen, adding a balcony,helped paint the annex and also helped get a new parsonage.

He was a church elder and was president of the board of Fowler Christian Church.

He is survived by his wife, Mary and sons Randy, Tim, and Jack & wife Suzanne all of Fowler, 6 grandchildren, and 11 great grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by brothers, Richard, Dale & Lloyd and sisters Lulabelle Sobba, Joan Huslig,and daughter Lynette Greene.

Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. Saturday, December 1, 2018, at the First Christian Church, Fowler.  Friends may call from 9:00 a.m. until 7:00 p.m. Friday at Fidler-Orme-Bachman Mortuary, Meade.  Interment will follow the service in the Fowler Cemetery, Fowler.

The family would welcome memorials to the First Christian Church in care of the funeral home.
