Charles Robert (Bob) Wilkerson, age 69, of Manter, Kansas died Thursday, February 9, 2017, at Brookdale Palmer Park in Colorado Springs, Colorado. He was born July 8, 1947, in Liberal, Kansas, the son of Charles C. and Nellie L. (Von Hemel) Wilkerson.

Bob was a lifetime resident of Stanton County and graduated from Manter High School in 1965. He continued his education at Colby Community College and then attended Fort Hays State University. While in Hays, Bob married Linda Trussell on April 30, 1966. They returned to Manter and began farming. Bob served on the Manter City Council for over 20 years. He was a member of the American Agriculture Movement. He drove a tractor from Manter, Kansas to Washington D.C. Bob was also a member of the Manter United Methodist Church.

He is survived by his wife, Linda of their home; three daughters, Sheila Mills and husband Jeff of Glennville, Georgia, Bobbi Lynne Korte and husband Billy Bob of Walsh, Colorado, Shawn Peterson and husband Brian of Johnson, Kansas; brother, Beauford (Tube) Wilkerson and wife Pauline of Manter, Kansas; two sisters, Eva (Babe) Klingenberg of Manter, Kansas, Bonnie Manning and husband Bill of Garden City, Kansas; six grandchildren, Jeff Jr., Jake and Harlee Mills, Peyton, Chesney and Brylie Peterson; and two great-grandchildren. 

Bob is preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Alvin (Bud) Wilkerson and Bill Wilkerson; and grandson, Robbie Sieger.

Funeral service will be held at 10:00 AM on Monday, February 13, 2017, at the Manter United Methodist Church in Manter, Kansas with Pastor Mary Courtney officiating. Interment will follow at the Stanton County Cemetery in Johnson, Kansas. Friends may call from 2:00 PM until 8:00 PM on Sunday, February 12, 2017, at Garnand Funeral Home in Johnson.
