Francis To File For 125th District Seat
05/01/2014

Shannon G. Francis, a resident of Liberal, Kansas for 54 years, is announcing his intent to file as a candidate for the Republican nomination for Kansas State Representative from the 125th district. This district is comprised of Liberal, Kismet and most of Seward County.
“I want to make the 125th district better,” Francis said. “We need jobs, housing, and highways.  To achieve this we need passionate, thoughtful representation.  I want to be your voice in Topeka to build a better Kansas.”
The majority of Kansans now live in Kansas City, Wichita and Topeka, he said.  “It is more important than ever to build relationships to protect our interests.  We need to continue to push for highway 54 improvements and protect those already budgeted.  We need to protect funding for our school districts and community college.  We need to have the tools to encourage business to expand and relocate to rural Kansas.   We need to protect our local government’s sources of funding and local control.”
Shannon has been married to Carol Feather Francis for 28 years.  They have 3 children: Kelly 21, Kimberly 18, and John 15.  Shannon’s previous government service included eight years on the Seward County Commission, President of the Kansas Association of Counties, and Chairman of Kansas Department of Transportations planning subcommittee on rural transportation.  Shannon has extensive business experience in the local community.  He was the developer of over 90 homes, and manages and is a partner in the Village Plaza Office Complex, and Spencer Browne’s Coffee House.  He also has farming interests in Seward and Meade Counties.
If you would like to help with the campaign, please contact Shannon at SFran83384@aol.com or by cell phone at 620-655-5735.
