LHS Ranks Number Two in U.S. News and World Report

Liberal moves up from number seven to number two in the state in the US News and World Reports high school rankings.  Here is what the publication has to say about the best high schools in Kansas.

To graduate, Kansas high school students must earn at least 21 credits in English language arts, history and government, science, mathematics, physical education, fine arts and electives. High school students also take state assessments in math, science, reading, writing and history and government, according to the Kansas State Department of Education.

Of the Kansas schools in the 2014 U.S. News Best High Schools rankings, two were awarded silver medals and 30 received bronze medals. The top-ranked high school in Kansas is East High School, a part of Witchita Public Schools, which is about 140 miles from Topeka.
