2 Vehicle Crash Claims The Life of A Rolla Man

A two vehicle accident that occurred Wednesday afternoon has claimed the life of a Rolla Man. The accident happened Wednesday afternoon at approximately 12:18pm in rural Morton County at the intersection of County Road 26 and County Road G. A 1994 Ford pick up being driven by James Dale Mason,48, Rolla  failed to yield at the intersection and drove directly into the path of a 2008 Chevy pick up being driven by Lindel Goode, 43, of Hugoton. Goode's pick up struck the passenger side door of the Mason vehicle, and both entered the Southwest ditch. Goodes vehicle overturned and came to rest on the drivers side facing north , while the Mason pick up came to rest facing East. James Mason and a passenger in his vehicle, Tyler Miller, 23, of Rolla, were taken to the Morton County Hospital. Mason was pronounced dead in flight to Wichita, by hospital staff. Miller was later life flighted to Wichita with internal bleeding. Lindel Goode was taken to the Stevens County Hospital to be treated for possible injuries. Seatbelts were not in use in the Mason vehicle but were in Goodes vehicle.
