ESPN Featured Hargrove and the BJ's Sunday
06/26/2009

ESPN producer Joe Disney called KSCB sports Thursday to inform our sports listeners that Liberal, Kansas will be a part of Sportscenter Sunday morning. Disney produced a story about Mike Hargrove managing the Liberal Bee Jays. A camera crew and reporter were in Liberal in early June for the story. Reporter David Amber interviewed Hargrove, Sharon Hargrove, BJ GM Bob Carlile, and player Bren Schuehler. The finished product aired on ESPN's Sportscenter Sunday morning between 9:30 AM and 10:00 AM. Disney works in Bristol, Connecticut and produces features for Sportscenter and College Gameday. The story features the Perryton native Hargrove who managed the Cleveland Indians, Baltimore Orioles, and Seattle Mariners before managing a semi-pro team he played for in 1972. Last year, Hargrove managed the BJ's to a fourth place finish at the NBC World Series. Disney was a guest on the Sportsguys Monday morning.
