Bee Jays squander Lead Again in Loss to Dodge City
06/19/2009

The Liberal Bee Jays again lost an early lead to lose for the second consecutive night as the Dodge City A's beat Liberal 5-4 Thursday in Dodge. The Bee Jays had a 4-0 lead going into the fifth inning, but failed to score again and gave up five runs defensively to lose.

Logan Odom started the game for Liberal and pitched six innings giving up just two runs and off of five hits with five strikeouts. Odom got a no decision. Offensively the Bee Jays were led by John Haines who hit a two run homer and walked. Bryce Baugh was 2-3 along with a walk and added an RBI.

Liberal scored one in the first and three in the fourth inning. The A's countered with two runs in the fifth, two in the seventh, and one in the eighth.

Dodge improves to 6-5 overall, and 3-5 in the Jayhawk League. The Bee Jays fall to 6-7 overall and 4-5 in the league. They will open up a four game home series again Derby tonight at 7 p.m. The game will air on 1270 AM and kscb.net. Koochel's Automotive Bumper to Bumper is the buyout sponsor.
