Bulldogs Top Ulysses in Extra Innings
06/18/2009

The Liberal Bulldogs topped Ulysses 8-6 in 10 innings Wednesday night at Ulysses. Chris Flowers drove home the winning run with a double in the 10th. The Bulldogs led 4-2 going to the seventh but allowed two in seventh to send the game to extra innings. Both teams scored two in the ninth but just Liberal plated two in the 10th for the win. Flowers started the game on the mound and went six innings allowing just two runs. Austin Pitts pitched two innings in relief for the win and Jared Hall came on for the save in the 10th. Due to the extra innings, the teams did not play a non league game with a meeting coming up Friday at noon in Dodge City. The Bulldogs (12-2, 6-0) play Great Bend Friday at 5:00 PM.
