Pirates Pick Doran in 36th Round
06/11/2009

It's been a busy month for Bobby Doran. The 6'6" righty from Flower Mound, Texas picked Texas Tech last week for his four year school. Thursday he pitched in the BJ opener with ESPN cameras honing in. He went back to the Metroplex area for his sister's graduation this weekend. Thursday morning, he was selected in the MLB draft. The Pittsburgh Pirates took Doran with the fourth pick of the 36th round. Doran was 10-3 for Seward this past year. He is the first Saint and second BJ to be selected in the draft. Yesterday, Liberal's Cameron Monger of New Mexico went in the 27th round to the Padres.
