A Skins Shocker in Wichita
09/06/2011

The similarities are erie.  A loss at the same place and an injury to a player from the same position.  Last year Liberal lost the championship of the Wichita South Titan Classic when a goalie was injured.  This year they lost the opener of that same tournament to Wichita Trinity and goalie Ricardo Castro was injured seven minutes into the game.  A freshman goalie finished the game in a 3-2 loss.

But Liberal's high powered offense was also held in check taking only six shots on goal.  Eduardo Moreno and Isai Gutierrez scored goals.

But head coach Lori Navarro is concerned about the team's defense.  After an 8-3 win over Great Bend and a 3-2 loss to Wichita Trinity, Liberal has allowed six goals after allowing 17 all of last season.

The Redskins play Dodge City Thursday at Wichita in the loser's bracket.
