Saints Tennis Recognized for Academics
08/01/2011

Yet another academic honor came to the Seward County athletic department this week as the Saints and Lady Saints tennis teams were named to the Intercollegiate Tennis Association  All-Academic Teams for their performances in the classroom during the 2010-2011 school year.  In addition, six Saints and three Lady Saints received individual recognition as ITA Scholar Athletes in the announcement.

To be recognized on the list, teams must have a cumulative 3.2 GPA while individual student-athletes must record a 3.5 GPA or better during the year.  For the Seward Men’s team, Felipe Cruz, Antoine Freitas, Lucas Izkovitz, Laercio Lobo, Raphael Machado, and Alex Richards were all named ITA Scholar Athletes while on the Women’s side of things Fanny Benincasa, Kauana Goncalves, and Salitza Abrantes all earned the award.
