New Found Inside Game not Enough in Great Bend
02/05/2011

There is an exciting component to the current and future Liberal girls basketball program.  That component is size.  Not since Trisha Shandy during the mid 90's has LHS had a true big post player.  But they do now.  Sophomore Marisol Regalado is 6'2" and last night Great Bend didn't have an answer for her.  She had 12 points inside.  But Liberal wasn't strong enough in other areas as the Lady Panthers (6-8, 3-1) beat LHS 56-50 Friday night in Great Bend.  Liberal had chances to win but missed many lay ups and or fumbled away 3 on 1 and 2 on 1 opportunities.  Liberal trailed 31-28 at halftime but led much of the third quarter with their biggest lead at 44-39.  The Lady Redskins (8-6, 1-2) led 44-42 after three quarters.  Justice Norah scored 19 in an off shooting night.  Liberal plays Dodge City Saturday at 3 p.m. on Talkradio 1270 and kscbnews.net.
