Principal Changes Coming Following the Retirement of Two Longtime Principals
04/30/2009

usd480.net Longtime Lincoln Elementary Principal Nancy Thompson will retire following the school year.

There will be a shakeup in the Principals in the USD 480 school system beginning in the 2009-10 school term. Garfield Principal Dr. Travis Wilson, and Lincoln Elementary Principal Nancy Thompson will both retire following the school year. Also West Middle School Principal Khris Thexton turned in his resignation as he has accepted the Superintendent's job in Marysville, Kansas. The loss of three Principals in the district has caused the following changes to occur. Current South Middle School Principal Brandon Hyde will take over for Dr. Wilson as Principal at Garfield. Current Washington Elementary Principal Gilberto Rito will replace Hyde as the new Principal at South. Troy McCarter will get an upgrade from Assistant Principal at West Middle School to Principal. Melinda Cline will move from Principal at McKinley Elementary to Principal at Lincoln Elementary. Other changes include the promotion of Kathy Wedel to Principal at McKinley and the hiring of John Jones to Principal at Washington.
