01/19/2011

Friday night is a Night of Politics at the Rock Island  Depot.  The Liberal Chamber of Commerce and the Leader and Times Newspaper host several newly elected state politicians for the event Friday night at 7 p.m..  The Night of Politics includes Kansas politicians like Secretary of State Kris Kobach, Senator Garrett Love, Representative Brian Weber, Representative Ron Rychman, former state Representative John Faber, and local politicians.  Liberal Chamber of Commerce Executive Director Roselle Webb says it's an opportunity to meet people respresenting us.

"It's a great time for everybody to come and find out what their views are and bend their ears a little bit."

Kobach is the co-author of the Arizona Immigration Bill and made a proposal Tuesday for voters to be required to show a photo I.D. when they go to the polls.  This will be Kobach's first public speaking engagement since he was elected.
