Saints Lasso #14 Wranglers in Overtime
12/06/2010

While trailing nearly the entire game and holding a lead for just 37

combined seconds in regulation, the Seward County Saints came back late

in the game to force overtime against 12-1 and 14th ranked Odessa on

Saturday night. The drama didn't end there, after falling behind by 7

in overtime with just 1:55 to go, the Saints looked dead in the water

but ended the five minute period on a furious 9-2 run to tie the game

back up and send it to a second overtime. The final overtime was all

Seward but Odessa didn't give up as the Saints had a six point lead with

just two minutes to go before watching it wither away to one before

eventually pulling the game out by four 90-86. The Saints led a

combined 37 seconds in regulation and the first overtime combined before

staying on top the distance in the second extra period. Jeremy Jones

led the way with 26 points while Daveon Boardingham posted his second

double-double of the year with 11 points and 12 rebounds and Rafriel

Guthrie played a strong game with 14 points and 8 rebounds. Odessa

chalked up 28 offensive rebounds in the game but was just 7 of 22 from

the free throw line in the loss. The Saints missed 19 free throws on

the night but got to the line 41 times compared to just 22 for the

Wranglers. Seward is now 8-2 on the year and will host TAAG Prep

Academy on Friday and the Colorado Kings on Saturday of the Pepsi

Classic next weekend in the Greenhouse.
