Texas County Board Of Education Filings To Begin

Candidates for the Board of Education in nine Texas County school districts file Declarations of Candidacy beginning at 8 a.m. Monday, December 6th.

 

Kimberly Sloat, Secretary of the Texas County Election Board, said the filing period will end at 5 p.m. Wednesday, December 8th .

 

The Board of Education positions at stake will be filled at the Annual School Election scheduled February 8, 2011. If no candidate receives more than 50% of the total votes cast in this election, the two candidates receiving the highest number of votes will meet in an election on Tuesday, April 5, 2011.

 

Offices for which Declarations of Candidacy will be accepted at the County Election Board office include the following:

 

Yarbrough School District---------- Office No. 1

 

Guymon School District------------- Office No. 1

 

Hooker School District--------------- Office No. 1

 

Tyrone School District---------------- Office No. 1

 

Office No. 4 (unexpired term)

 

Goodwell School District------------- Office No. 1

 

Hardesty School District-------------- Office No. 1

 

Optima School District---------------- Office No. 1 (unexpired term)

Office No. 2

 

Straight School District---------------- Office No. 2

 

Turpin School district----------------- Office No. 1

 

Texhoma School District-------------- Office No. 1
