Area Farmers Could Win 2,500 Dollars
12/02/2010

Area farmers have a chance to win 25-hundred dollars. Monsanto's

Linda Arnold says farmers have a chance to win big.

"It's sponsored by the Monsanto Fund," Arnold said. "We're asking

farmers to put their name in a hat and we are going to be pulling

out the name of one farmer per county and asking that farmer to

select an organization in his community to give the 25-hundred

dollar donation to."

It takes five minutes to apply before December 31. Eligible farmers

can fill out an entry form at growcommunities.com or call 1-877-267-

3332. Farmers must live or farm in an eligible county, be 21 or older,

and be actively engaged in farming a minimum of 250 acres of corn,

soybeans, and/or cotton or farm 40 acres of open field vegetables

or at least 10 acres of tomatoes, peppers, and or cucumbers. The

America's Farmers Grow Communities Program gives farmers in

1,200 counties across 38 states the chance to win.
