Meade used a dominating running attack to claim the Class 2-1A state football championship over Pittsburg/St. Marys-Colgan 20-14.
Meade controlled the clock all game, especially in the first half when the Buffs ran 48 plays for 223 yards to seven plays and 78 yards for Colgan.
Quarterback Kellan Hernandez led Meade with 151 rushing yards and two touchdowns.
Colgan (12-1) took a 7-0 lead in the first quarter when Winston Slavins recovered a blocked punt in the end zone. Meade (12-1) responded with a 13-play, 80-yard drive that ended with a 17-yard touchdown by Jaden Friesen.
The Buffs scored again just before halftime, then went on a 20-play, 76-yard touchdown drive in the second half that ate 10:34 off the clock.
