Area Soldiers Need Help Returning Home for Thanksgiving
11/05/2010

Area soldiers are longing to be home on Thanksgiving. There is

an effort to allow four of them to do just that. An account at First National

Bank has been established to help pay for soldiers to return home

for a visit. Whirlwind Counseling's Ed Poley says it's the least we

can do for our men and women in the military.

"It's the opportunity to say to the soldiers in our area, thank you,"

Poley said. "Soldiers, they go. When the order comes down

they go do it. Now they have a chance to come home and spend

a few days with their family during Thanksgiving."

The military will fly the soldiers to the mainland but this money will

help them get them all the way home. For more information call

Charlotte 626-3202 or call Ed Poley at 624-7684. You can also

take a check to First National Bank for a donation which is tax

deductable.
