Oklahoma Lowest Unemployment Rate In Beaver County

Four counties in eastern Oklahoma had the

highest unemployment rates in the state in September.

Oklahoma Employment Security Commission figures released

Wednesday showed the jobless rate in Latimer and McCurtain counties

reached 10.4 percent. Statistics showed the rates in LeFlore and

Sequoyah counties were 9.6 percent, the same as the national

average.

Other high unemployment rates in the state were 9.4 percent in

Okmulgee County and 9.2 percent in Hughes County.

The lowest unemployment rates were in western Oklahoma - 3

percent in Beaver County, 3.4 percent in Harper County and 3.5

percent Cimarron County.

Oklahoma's statewide unemployment rate dipped to 6.9 percent in

September.
