Skins Make Quick Work of West
10/27/2010

At least Wichita West made it to the second half. Just 16 seconds into the second half, Isai Gutierrez scored into the south goal to give Liberal a 10-0 win over the Pioneers in a game shortened due to the mercy rule. Isai Gutierrez scored five goals to give him 25 for the season. Hector Mata scored twice. Jose Chavira, Socorro Martinez, and Joe Pena added goals. Auden Portillo and Gutierrez had two assists while Mata, Martinez, and Joe Campos added assists. Head coach Lori Navarro liked what she saw. "I liked the way we moved the ball," the 13th yeard LHS head coach said. "We finished the game early just like I wanted. They definitely took it seriously. Against teams with a record like this (Wichita West is 1-16) you've got to dominate and show why we're the 2nd ranked team in the state."

Liberal hosts 10-6-1 McPherson Thursday night at 6:30 p.m on Redskin Field. The Bullpups beat Andover 3-1 Tuesday in McPherson. The Skins are 13-1-3 after the win.
