Pitts and Deaton Lift Redskins
04/21/2009

Liberal plays Great Bend in Conference play tonight.

Liberal's Austin Pitts and Tyson Deaton helped themselves Monday at Hugoton. Both pitched their teams to wins and helped themselves out at the plate. In game one, Pitts pitched a one hit shutout and hit a grand slam in Liberal's 13-0 victory. The Redskins scored six in the first, one in the fourth, and six in the seventh in the win. Pitts tossed a perfect game until the Hugoton nine hole hitter got a hit in the sixth. In game two, Deaton pitched six strong innings striking out 10 and allowing one hit. Deaton also went 4-4 at the plate. The Skins scored two in the first, two in the second, and two in the fifth. The Redskins are 6-3 and play at Goodland Thursday at 4 pm mountain time. The Eagles fall to 2-4.
