A new report says Kansas growers have
planted nearly three-quarters of their winter wheat acreage.
In its weekly update Tuesday, Kansas Agricultural Statistics
Service reports that 71 percent of the planned acreage is now
seeded. That's ahead of last year and just a bit behind the
Warm and dry conditions last week allowed farmers to harvest
more of their fall crops. The corn harvest is 81 percent complete.
