Epic PCS Hosts Oz-some Epic Texting Competition
10/06/2010

Oz-Fest will feature an Oz-some Epic Texting Competition in which the person who can text the fastest will win a $100 cash prize sponsored by Epic PCS. The contest is Oct. 9 at 2:45 p.m. during Oz-Fest at the Coronado Museum and the Land of Oz.

The contest is open to competitors of all ages who own or have permission to use a cell phone with text message capabilities or who wish to use a wireless phone provided by Epic PCS. Competition is open to everyone with no age divisions and no special categories for alpha or numeric pad equipment.

“It’s come one, come all in this first-time-ever competition,” said Linda Ward, marketing and advertising director for Epic PCS. “Epic PCS and Epic Touch are pleased to be involved in this historic community event and delighted to be sponsoring the texting competition in conjunction with Oz-Fest.”

To enter all competitors must fill out a registration form. Filling out the form ahead of time will speed things up the day of the competition. Registration forms are available in advance at the Coronado Museum and all three Epic PCS locations in Liberal, Elkhart or Guymon. Completed forms, also available at the competition, will be taken on a first come, first serve basis at the competition.

“This is a timed event with contestants typing a script that will be kept secret until the competition. Each individual will compete for time and accuracy with seconds added for errors such as spelling, capitalization, punctuation and missing words and spaces,” Ward said. “In addition to the top prize of $100, second through fifth place winners will receive gift bags from Epic PCS.”
