07/01/2014

The Soroptimist Club of Liberal is proud to announce that we have
three contestants vying for the Five State Fair Queen, which will be crowned on July 25th at 6:30 p.m. at the Rodeo Arena on the Seward County Fairgrounds. The get-acquainted party was held in their honor at the Depot on July 1st.   The money raised from this contest is used for scholarships for students from this area and is tax deductible.  Our contestants are as follows:

ANA TOVILLA

Ana is the daughter of Tano and Paty Tavillo and is a Freshman at Southwestern Heights High School.  She enjoys nail art designs, singing and playing the piano, listening to music, swimming, reading, writing and hanging out with friends.  Ana likes traveling around the world with her family, playing sports, art, photography and helping children.

While at Southwestern Heights High School, Ana is involved in cheerleading, softball, swimming, choir, Mustang Singers and Forensics.  Ana is also involved in the drama department at SCCC/ATS.  After high school, Ana plans to attend college and, though undecided at this time, Ana is interested in becoming a lawyer or pursuing photography.

When writing, singing and playing the piano, Ana can express herself in different ways than is possible in person.

Ana has entered the Five State Fair Queen competition to be an active part of her community and to show children you can become whatever you want to be if you set your mind for it and work hard.

Ana will be hosting a car wash, bake sale and various other activities.

BRIANNA HEADRICK

Brianna Headrick is the daughter of Kelly and Brenda Headrick.  Brianna is a Freshman at Turpin High School.  She enjoys cooking, embroidery, crocheting, art and helping out her family.  Brianna plans to attend college after graduating high school.

Brianna is running for Five State Fair Queen to earn scholarships and have fun!!  She will be selling home made salsa, chicken and cheese enchilada dinners, hosting a car wash and other activities.

ASPEN JARAMILLO

Aspen Jaramillo is the daughter of Dennis Jaramillo and Jennifer Malin.  Aspen is a sophomore.  She enjoys volleyball, riding horses, cooking, singing and dancing.  Aspen’s future plans include meteorology in which she plans to be a storm chaser.

Aspen likes to help at Dorothy’s house.  Aspen loves riding her horses Lady Bee and Ricky.  Volleyball is her #1 sport.  “When I am out on the court, I love to feel the energy of the crowd and it gives me such a rush!”

When asked why she wants to be fair queen, Aspen says, “In 2003, I was the Five State Fair Queen Flower Girl and since that time it has been my goal to become the Five State Fair Queen and proudly represent the city of Liberal and Seward County as your 2014 Five State Fair Queen.”

Aspen plans to have a bake sale and sell enchilada and lasagna meals.
