Bee Jays Storm Past Larks
06/12/2014

With a strong thunderstorm hovering north and west of Hays much of the game, Mother Nature cooperated Wednesday night.  The Bee Jays blanked Hays 6-0 at Larks Park in a game which went six and a half innings due to the weather before it was called off.  But it was an official game and a much needed BJ win.

Robert Dugger (2-0) went the distance pitching six innings and allowing three hits with six strikeouts and one walk.

Liberal got off to a great start offensively when Alec Isaac slammed a homer over the left field wall.  Liberal added three more runs in the third when Mike Rampone laced a two RBI double to left center.  Seth Stevens bounced a single to left to score another run and make it 4-0.  Zach Hoffman launched a homer over the left field wall in the fifth to make it 5-0 Jays.  Stevens walked with the bases juiced in the seventh for Liberal's sixth run.  Luberal had nine hits in seven innings.  Bryson Allen was 2-4 with a double and Justin McCarty had two knocks.

Liberal is 6-3 and 2-3 in the Jayhawk League.  Hays is 8-1 and 5-1 in league.  The teams meet Thursday night at Larks Park at 7 on 1270 and kscbnews.net.
