BJ Bats Come Alive in Game Two
06/01/2014

The Liberal Bee Jays are 2-0 after pounding out 13 hits in a 7-2 win over the Albuquerque Diablos Saturday night at Brent Gould Field.  The Bee Jays scored four in the eighth to break open a 3-2 game.

The Diablos scored first but the BJ's bounced back when St. Cloud State's Kyle Lieser doubled home two in the fourth to give Liberal a 2-1 lead.  The BJ's added a run in the fifth when Cisco's Alec Isaac hit his second triple of the night.  He scored on Bryson Allen's deep sac fly to make it 3-1 in the fifth.  The Diablos scored in the seventh to make it 3-2.  Lieser singled home another run in the eighth to make it 4-2.  A two RBI single by Central Arizona's Cody Erickson followed by an RBI single by Isaac broke the game open.  Coffeyville's Kyle Dale went five innings for the win allowing one run.  Western Texas lefty Micah Brown pitched two innings and allowed one run.  Arlington Baptist south paw Zach Thompson pitched a scoreless eighth and Stephen F. Austin's Tyler Wiedenfeld returned to Brent Gould Field and pitched a scoreless ninth.

Liberal out-hit the Diablos 13-5.  Albuquerque had three errors.

The same two teams meet Sunday night at 7 at Brent Gould Field.  Clingan Tires and Windtree Management are the buyout sponsors.
