Redskins Win Hutchinson Meet

Liberal's boys track and field team wins the Hutchinson meet.  The Redskins scored 110 points Friday to win their fourth meet in five meets this season.  The Redskins beat Hays who won state last year.  Here are the team totals:

1. Liberal 110

2. Hays 91

 3. Wichita Southeast 76

4. Garden City 55

5. Wichita East 54

6. Wichita Northwest 50

7. Bishop Carroll 44

8. Hutchinson 41

8. Dodge City 41

9. Maize 38

10. Andale 30

Liberal's medalists:

110 hurdles- Trenton Hammond 1st at 14.6 and Edwin Sobalvarro 3rd 15.8

300 hurdles- Trenton Hammond 1st at 38.2 and Edwin Sobalvarro 4th 41.7

800- Erving Altamirano 1st 1:58

3200- Sammy Obando 1st 10:08

4x800- 1st at 8:16 with Octavio Arredondo, Mershek Wiltshire, Alex Chance, and Ivan Aleman

4x400- 2nd at 3:24  Trenton Hammond, Erving Altamirano, Edwin Sobalvarro, and Eli Altamirano

1600-- Erving Altamirano 2nd at 4:33 and Sammy Obando 5th 4:41

400- Eli Altamirano 3rd at 52.4

Javelin- Victor Carrera  3rd 160'5" and Nolan Larkin 7th 153'6"

Triple Jump- Chase Eatmon 3rd at 42'8"

High Jump- Chase Eatmon 4th 6'

4x100- 5th at 44.7 wit Trenton Hammond, Edwin Sobalvarro, Misael Gonzalez, and Eli Altamirano

2000 Steeple Greg McClurg 6th at 7:12

Shot put- Hayden Coker 7th 45'2"

The LHS girls scored 10 points in a meet Garden City won.  Here are Liberal's placers:

Shot Put- Carley Shelton 5th at 34'6"

1600- Mercy Perez 6th 5:43 and Camryn Slatten 7th at 5:44

3200- Mercy Perez 6th 12:27 and Yanelly Jurado 7th 12:38

4x400- 7th 4:28  Holly Hinkle, Cathrine Covert, Gabby Amparan, and Sophia Heredia
