Liberal Opens Golf Season
04/10/2014

Eli Svaty

The Liberal High School golf team opens their season Thursday at home.  The Redskins have 12 out for the sport under first year head coach Eli Svaty who had been an assistant for Kody Thexton.  Liberal returns four players back with varsity experience including senior Blake Stout who qualified for state last year.  Junior Garrett Poulton just missed state last year.  Sophomore Caleb Brond and senior Blake Brenneman bring back varsity experience.  Senior Heath Parmenter, freshman Dylan Shellenberger, and Shaddock Wood round out the varsity for now.   Liberal loses  Michael Begley, Daniel Dowell, Hunter Sandell, and George Fitzgerald from last year.  Begley was a state qualifier.

Dodge City, Garden City, Guymon, Hugoton, Meade, and Felt will compete Thursday at Willow Tree at 3 p.m.
