Local Group Endorses Candidates at Meeting
07/16/2010

"We the People" won by one vote to become the group's name.

'We the People' met Thursday night and passed out ballots and agreed to vote to endorse candidates for the upcoming primary on August 3.

The group agreed that a candidate needed to recieve at least 70% of the vote for there to be an endorsement. The group also agreed to not endorse local candidates.

The group has chosen to endorse Todd Tiahrt (71%) for U.S. Senate; Sam Brownback (89%) for Governor of Kansas; Kris Kobach (89%) for Secretary of State, Ralf De Zago (77%) for Attorney General, Ron Estes (100%) for State Treasurer, and Dave Powell (100%) for Insurance Commissioner.

The race for U.S. Congress was split and there was no candidate who recieved the required 70% or above, so the group will not be endorsing a candidate for that spot.
