Balko Man Injured in Rollover Accident
06/27/2010

A single vehicle accident early Saturday morning has injured a Balko Oklahoma man. A 2004 Ford Explorer being driven by John Dane Morris, 39, of Balko Oklahoma, was northbound on a county road, 12 miles south, and 4 miles east of Turpin, in Beaver County, when for an unknown reason, the vehicle swerved to the left, leaving the roadway. Morris over-corrected and tried to re-enter the roadway when the vehicle went into a broadslide and rolled two times, coming to rest on it's wheels. The driver was ejected out the drivers side window on the second roll. The accident occured at 2:00am Saturday morning, however Morris was not found until several hours later. He was taken to Southwest Medical Center with head, trunk, and internal injuries. He was in stable condition when he was airlifted to the OU medical Center in Oklahoma City. The accident was investigated by Oklahoma Highway Patrol Trooper Michael Eckhardt of the Beaver detachment, with assistance of the Seward County EMS and the Turpin Fire and Rescue.
