HOG's Pour into Liberal for Rally
06/04/2010

The Harley Owner's Group Kansas State Rally roars into Liberal this weekend. Activities began Thursday and will continue Friday and Saturday. Last year's event was in Lawrence but Kansas State Rally Coordinator Mark Marcellus says Liberal is reeling in the HOG's.

"People kind of think we're out here on the end of the earth you know," Marcellus said of Liberal. "We're able to stick our noses up a little bit because we've up the numbers by 100 already this year for the pre-registration and many, many calls on people who plan on riding in this weekend."

Marcellus says he expects in excess of 600 riders in Liberal this weekend.

There will be a 5 state ride from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. into Sublette, Ulysses, Johnson, Springfield, Campo, Boise City, Clayton, Dalhart, Stratford, Texhoma, Guymon, Hooker, Tyrone, and back to Liberal. There will be entertainment Friday night at 7 p.m. at the Seward County Activity Center.

There will be a Saturday parade in Liberal at 4:30 p.m beginning at the Liberal Harley Davidson and going west on Highway 54 to Kansas Avenue. Then going north to 15th street and heading west to Stadium Road before traveling south to the Seward County Activity Center.
