Laugh Out Loud at the Baker Backyard Blast
05/14/2010

Baker Arts Center is appreciative of its members and this year, at the annual kick-off to the Center’s membership drive, those members will be cracking up!

On Saturday, June 26th the fun will begin with free arts activities for kids from 3:00 pm to 6:00 pm. A pulled pork sandwich meal will be served at 6:00 pm and is free for new and renewing members and $5.00 for other guests. After the 7:00 pm annual meeting of the membership the entertainment begins.

Guests of the Blast will be entertained for free by comedian Matt Jernigan. His comedy is clean and appropriate for all ages. Everyone is encouraged to bring their lawn chair, as the day’s events take place on the Baker Arts Center lawn.

As a 501©(3) charitable organization, Baker Arts Center does not receive any tax dollars. With memberships starting at $35, the membership drive is important for the yearly operational budget of the Center and aids in providing workshops for children and adults, free exhibits throughout the year, and bringing travelling cultural events to the area. Although the event is a thank-you to members, all public is invited to attend.

The Blast is sponsored by: Al Shank Insurance, Bank of Beaver City, Brenneman Funeral Home, C Dean Riney Insurance, Collins Diamonds, Conestoga Energy, El Kan Drug, Epic Touch, Hay Rice & Associates, J&R Sand, Lyddon Aero Center, Rine Exterminating, Scantlin’s Furniture, Southern Office Supply, Southern Pioneer Electric, Southwest Glass & Door, and Stu Emmert’s Automotive.

More information on Baker Arts Center, membership and the Baker Backyard Blast can be found on their website: www.bakerartscenter.org or by calling 620.624.2810.
