10/25/2013

Liberal spoiled Dodge City's WAC championship hopes Thursday night.  The Redskins, who again are playing well at the end of the season, beat the Red Demons 1-0 at the Cornelsen Sports Complex.  Henry Vela scored a goal with an assist from Jason Rios with 25 minutes remaining in the game.  Garden City wins the WAC for the second straight year at 7-1 while DC finishes 6-2 and falls to 13-3 overall.  Liberal is 10-6 and finishes 4-4 in the WAC.  The Redskins have won five of their last six and host a 5A playoff game Tuesday night.
