Cano No Longer LHS Volleyball Coach
05/05/2010

Liberal volleyball coach Hugo Cano ends a successful on court run as the school's head volleyball coach. He told members of the volleyball team Tuesday after school that he would no longer be the head volleyball coach. Liberal High School released a statement regarding Cano. "Hugo Cano will not coach volleyball at LHS effective immediately. Since this is a personnel matter no further information will be disclosed other than to share that he will still teach for the district in the capacity of physical education instructor." Cano coached LHS for five seasons. His last team went 24-14 after they were eliminated by Bishop Carroll. The 2010 Redskins bring back most of last year's team including first team all WAC juniors Ashlyn Westerman and Katy Burnett. The Redskins had become consistently successful going 24-14, 29-12, 32-7, and 31-5 the previous four seasons.
