LHS Tennis Team Wins Buhler Quad

Tennis Results from Buhler

The Redskins’ Varsity Tennis Team took home the gold medal from a quadrangular tournament in Buhler on April 20th. Participating teams included Buhler, Andover-Central, Valley Center, and Liberal. Liberal earned two 1st Place finishes and one 2nd Place finish to win 1st Place as a team. With 21 points, the Redskins edged out Valley Center for team honors.

Individual results:

#1 Singles: Larcyn Carter went 2-1 finishing 2nd Place. He defeated Andover’s Martin Lopez 8-1, defeated Buhler’s Dane Frazier 8-2, then lost to Valley Center’s Brett Seidl 2-8 to finish with the Silver Medal.

#2 Singles: Antonio Rodriquez went 0-3 on the day. He lost to Valley Center’s Neal Supernaw 3-8, lost to Andover’s Nick Gazda 5-8, then lost to Buhler’s Jesse Mitchell 4-8.

#1 Doubles: Vince Nguyen & Duc Nguyen went 3-0 finishing 1st Place. They defeated Valley Center’s Berning/Mayfield 8-3, defeated Andover’s Haag/Bond 8-2, then defeated Buhler’s Tyler/Schmidt 8-0 to earn the Gold Medal.

#2 Doubles: Hai Vo & Josh Hamilton went 3-0 finishing 1st Place. They defeated Valley Center’s Vieux/Dolezal 8-3, defeated Andover’s Holinde/Nola 8-7 (7-4 tie breaker), then defeated Buhler’s Arpin/Hill 8-4 to earn the Gold Medal.
