Skins Shoot Blanks in Shootout
09/03/2013

Liberal was 1-4 in a shootout while Hutchinson was 3-3 to beat Liberal 2-1 after two overtimes Monday afternoon at the Wichita South Titan Classic.  The Redskins scored first early in the second half when Elmer Quintana scored on a corner kick before the Salthawks tied the game with 17 minutes to play setting up two overtimes.

Head coach Lori Navarro Redskins left Wichita feeling a bit unlucky.  The Skins had 19 shots on goal while the defensive minded Salthawks packed in their defense and took just four shots.  Liberal played the two overtimes and the final 15 minutes of regulation with just 10 players due to a red card.

Liberal will play Wednesday at 4 against the Wichita North Redskins in the loser's bracket of the Wichita South Titan Classic.  Manhattan beat North 4-0.
