KJCCC Honors Grant and Maldonado

Seward County sophomores Quay Grant and Cameron

Maldonado have been named KJCCC Player and Pitcher of the week for their

performances last week against Barton and then Dodge City this past

weekend. Grant led Seward's offense to 6 straight wins by hitting an

even .500 on the week with 10 runs scored at the top of the Saints

lineup. He finished the week 11 for 22 and had at least one hit and one

run scored in each contest while putting together 4 multiple hit games

on the week. Maldonado was 2-0 in two starts during the week to pick up

his 4th and 5th wins of the season. On Monday the right hander went 6

innings against Barton leading the Saints to a 7-5 win and Sunday he

tossed a 2 hit complete game shutout while striking out a career high 8

in a 5-0 win over Dodge City. The pair will now set their sights on

Garden City who will come to Brent Gould Field for double headers on

Saturday and Monday in a pivotal mid season set between the two.
