More Road Wreckage for Bee Jays

The Liberal Bee Jays just finished a key Jayhawk League road trip 1-5 after a 6-3 loss at Hays Sunday night.  Liberal is tied with Derby for fourth at 12-16.  They are a far cry from the NBC qualifying top three of the league with Hays 18-9, El Dorado 16-11, and Wellington 15-12.  The Bee Jays will have to rely on an at large bid to the NBC World Series if they finish outside of that top three.

The Larks scored one in the first and third innings before plating three in the fourth against starter Justin Schnedler who walked seven and allowed four runs in three and one third innings.  Austin King went three innings allowing two runs.

The Bee Jays got on the board in the sixth when Darrien McLemore ripped a double to center to score two runs to make it 5-2.  Taylor Peterson of Hays hit a solo homer in the bottom of the inning to make it 6-2.  Zach Reding drove home McLemore on a groundout in the eighth to make it 6-3.

Brady Capshaw, Tyler Floyd, and McLemore had two hits a piece.  Jose Rosales-Rodarte pitched one and one-third scoreless innings.  

Liberal is 18-16 overall and 12-16 while the Larks are 25-9 and 18-9. 

The Bee Jays host Dodge City Tuesday at 7 on 1270 and kscbnews.net with Madden Oil as the buyout sponsor.
