Slow Start Proves Costly in El Dorado

 The El Dorado Broncos won the first five innings and the Liberal Bee Jays won the last four innings Friday night in El Dorado. The Broncos beat the Bee Jays 5-4 at McDonald Stadium. The BJ's struck out 13 times in the loss.

El Dorado scored three in the second and two in the forurth against starter Justin Schnedler. Coffeyville's Tyler Buss relieved Schnedler and tossed five scoreless innings to keep the BJ's in the game.
Liberal scored three in the seventh to jump back in the game. UTA's Darrien McLemore singled and Wichita State's Tanner Kirk singled as well. Yavapai's Austin Murphy chopped a single to right to score McLemore. Cisco's Alec Isaac whistled a double to left to score Kirk. Wichita State's Tanner Dearman grounded out to score pinch runner Teexas State's Lewis Guilbeau to make it 5-3.
Grayson's Zach Reding launched a double off the wall in left center to lead off the eighth. Nichols State's Seth Stevens grounded out to score Reding to make it 5-4. Liberal got the tying run on second in the ninth but would not score.
Liberal is 8-4 overall and 4-4 in the Jayhawk League while El Dorado is 6-4 and 4-4 in the Jayhawk.
The same two teams play Saturday and Sunday night at 7 in El Dorado on Talkradio 1270 and kscbnews.net.
