Seward Pitcher Cicchetti Named Player of the Week
03/11/2010

Seward County right hander Sydney Cicchetti has been named KJCCC Player of the Week after posting a 1.02 ERA in four games on the week. Cicchetti threw a complete game without allowing an earned run against Northern Oklahoma Tuesday and threw 5 2/3 innings against Garden City on Thursday while striking out 8. The Canadian freshman also picked up a win in relief Saturday in Seward’s 2-1 win over Pratt while throwing 2 innings striking out 5 without allowing a hit. Cicchetti again beat the Beavers Sunday when she threw all 8 innings in an extra inning affair while striking out 6 without walking a batter and allowing just 2 hits. She is now 6-1 on the season with a 1.34 ERA while posting a walks to strikeout ratio of 40 to 13.
