05/29/2013

KSCB and The Legend listeners have a heart that's even bigger than our listening area.  Listeners donated 15,158 dollars to the American Red Cross for disaster relief efforts with Moore, Oklahoma as the top priority right now.  Western Kansas American Red Cross Branch Manager Sherry Helmke accepted the check for KSCB/KLDG's Blake Ozz and Joe Denoyer Wednesday morning at Broadcast Square.   Helmke explained where the money goes specifically in the following release.

In Oklahoma, there are 7 shelters open with 362 residents.

>
>  Red Cross disaster workers are supporting shelters, kitchens, community
> centers and emergency aid stations where people can find a safe refuge, food
> and snacks, emotional support, relief supplies, health care services and
> information about what other help is available. Some are handing out much
> needed relief supplies, including batteries, sunscreen, coolers, buckets,
