A 10-0 Tuesday for LHS Softball and Soccer
05/15/2013

Liberal's softball and girls soccer team traveled for regionals Tuesday as big underdogs.  The games started and we found out why LHS was the underdog.

The LHS softball team played a Great Bend team who beat Liberal 18-0 and 13-0 last month.  Tuesday was much more competitive but the Panthers still prevailed 10-0 in five innings.  Great Bend scored two in the second, one in the third, two in the fourth, and five in the fifth.  Head coach Pat Knott says his defense played well but Liberal just couldn't get anything going offensively.  Liberal finishes 7-14 and loses seven seniors to graduation.

The LHS girls soccer team fell victim to the Kapaun Crusaders 10-0 in Wichita Tuesday evening.  Magali Vazquez had 10 saves and Carolina Limon had three shots on goal.  Liberal finishes 6-10 and was 3-5 in the WAC after going 2-14-1 and 0-8 last year.
